We’re putting the “pharm” in farmers market!
Join Rock County Prevention Network and the Janesville Police Department to safely dispose of your unused and unwanted medications. We will be at the Janesville Farmers Market on July 26th from 8am-1pm. Please empty your pills into a zip lock bag and drop them off at our tent. You can recycle your own pill bottles and remove personal information on the labels. We will also be providing a host of resources on medication safety including lockboxes and drug deactivation pouches.
NOT accepted: Aerosol cans, Anything containing blood or a bodily fluid, Household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas), Illegal drugs, Iodine-containing medications, Mercury thermometers, Personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc.), Sharps/syringes, and Vape pens/e-cigarette devices with a built-in battery that cannot be removed.
We know that there is a community need for sharp disposal. Unfortunately, we are unable to take sharps. Please see https://safeneedledisposal.org/states/wisconsin/ for where you can take these.
