Medication Take Back at the Janesville Farmers Market

We’re putting the “pharm” in farmers market!

Join Rock County Prevention Network and the Janesville Police Department to safely dispose of your unused and unwanted medications. We will be at the Janesville Farmers Market on July 26th from 8am-1pm. Please empty your pills into a zip lock bag and drop them off at our tent.  You can recycle your own pill bottles and remove personal information on the labels. 

NOT accepted: Aerosol cans, Anything containing blood or a bodily fluid, Household hazardous waste (paint, pesticides, oil, gas), Illegal drugs, Iodine-containing medications, Mercury thermometers, Personal care products (shampoo, soaps, lotions, sunscreens, etc.), Sharps/syringes, and Vape pens/e-cigarette devices with a built-in battery that cannot be removed.


We know that there is a community need for sharp disposal. Unfortunately, we are unable to take sharps. Please see https://safeneedledisposal.org/states/wisconsin/ for where you can take these.

Screenagers: Under The influence

Edgerton School District, Edgerton Police Department, Rock County Prevention Network, and Rock County Human Services have partnered to bring you “Screenagers: Under the Influence”. This documentary “delves into how the tech revolution has reshaped adolescence and its effects on substance use. The film debunks myths and depicts strategies parents and schools can use to encourage healthy decision-making, support teen mental health, set limits, and create healthy home environments. The film also includes many ways young people are using their wisdom and strength to help each other and themselves through this complicated terrain around substance use”. Tangible educational materials and conversational starters will be available as a take-away from this family friendly event.

All parents/caregivers are welcome. This film is appropriate for grades 6 and up. No cost and no registration necessary.

Doors will open at 6:15 and the film will begin at 6:30, lasting about 70 minutes.

This FREE event starts at 5 where you can find behavioral health resources, second chance job fair, live music, handcrafted coffee and more. Speakers with lived experience start at 6:45. Candlelight vigil to honor lives lost at 7:15.
